This was shaping up to be the perfect evening for bass, nice warm weather, sunny evening, low water at sunset and barely a breeze. So I got down to the mark 2 hours before low water and began plugging away while keeping on the move. About 1 hour 45 mins into the session I cast out and the lure cracked off! Very annoying as I just bought this lure.. I begrudgingly tied on a new leader and put another lure on that I had just bought, grand I thought I was good to go, nope this one snapped off in the cast as well :/
I was thinking what the hell is going on? Is the new 50lb braid I just bought defective or something? Anyway I very reluctantly tied on another leader after stripping out some of the braid, threw on a metal lure and started casting away, everything seemed fine... …for about 20 minutes... Boom, another crack off. Ok the lines bad I thought and gave up on the fishing. When I got home I stripped off all the braid and put some 15lb mono on to hold me over until I get some new high quality braid. The next day I thought to check my ring guides as maybe one is damaged, lo and behold the ceramic on the second eye guide was cracked and sharp as hell, it was cutting the braid.. So I lost 30 euro worth of lures and 20 euro worth of braid for a small chip in the ceramic on the rod I only just bought... Talk about bad luck!
