Started off fishing from the East Pier in Dun Laoghaire over high tide this evening, got there around 5.30pm and fishing at first with plugs over the shallower end were I got a hit from a 1-2lb pollock that didn't hook up. Tried spinning for mackerel for a bit in the deeper water, no joy myself but I did see others catching some! Anyway after blanking there I went home and then back out to a local mark at low tide to try for bass. When I got there the water was like glass and I could hear bass breaking water here and there so I knew there was fish here. A couple of casts in I got a take from a bass, nothing massive but big enough and a nice end to a long blank streak!
