So I ended up in Greystones today by chance for a non-fishing related reason, with plenty of time left in the day and had my rods with me, I planned on going to Wicklow town at first but then thought Killiney is closer and probably a better bet for bass on lures! By the time I had got there the place was jammers as the weather was so good, no place to park so I ended up going to Dun Laoghaire east pier again. I went up to the bend and fished into deepish water for mackerel for the first 2 hours while I waited for the tide to come in a bit so I could go back down to the shallow rocky weedy part. I had no luck in the deep water but some people were catching mackerel, and there was plenty of people trying! I moved down and fished the shallow part for a few hours with no joy, although it does seem like ideal bass grounds, it may produce better results on a dawn session.
