Started off the day by getting to our usual rocky outcrop to feather for mackerel/pollock/coalfish. Had absolutely nothing the hour we were there so we motored up to a sandy bank and threw out the anchor. Wasn't long before I had a dogfish on! I had put out a small 2 hook flapper on the 25g spinning rod with little bits of crab in the hopes of a flatfish, but I ended up catching the biggest smooth hound of the day on it, serious sport on light tackle, surprised the rod didn't snap in two! After the bites slowed we headed to another spot to anchor up, we caught nothing there either and poor Ken ended up blanking...
