Bait

Frozen crab, squid and fresh clam cocktail bait on pennel pulley at distance, ragworm tipped with squid on 2 hook flapper in close

Gear

2x 14ft Penn Tidal Surfcaster Rods

Dug some good ragworm at low tide earlier in the day, and managed to find a few clams while I was there as well. Got to a reefy North Dublin mark around 8pm and started fishing the rag in close along with the cocktail bait out far. Around half 8 or so I got a good take on the ragworm lifting into a schoolie bass, which I honestly thought was a smoothhound at first with how hard it was fighting. Was happy to finally get my first bass of the year (after many many blanks lol)! Had a good take on the distance bait shortly after but it hung me up on the rocks as I was reeling in and it got away. Once it started getting dark, the whiting plague began and just before finishing up I got a dogfish on the cocktail bait.
