Shallow Dive Lures

Gear

10ft Berkley spinning rod & Penn reel

It's that time of year again, and I just had to get out to give my local bass mark a bash. Armed with my favourite shallow dive lures, I hit the shallow water a little bit before low tide and just as the light was starting to fade. There was good activity in the water, I could see some bass around, at one point a decent sized bass lazily swam past me no more than 3ft away, but he didn't go for my lure unfortunately. After a little bit I decided to try a top water lure that I'd caught a schoolie on the last day I was here, and on my second cast, walking the dog back to me I saw a swirl behind the lure and a fish smacked it but it didn't hook up. That was the closest I got to catching for the whole session, but at least the fish are there.

Until next time! Gonzo
